Join us this February half-term for the Dare to Write Library as part of the Eden Project’s StoryFest. Storyfest is Eden Project’s book festival for children and young people which they describe as ‘a celebration of stories, storytelling, curiosity and fun’. Here we will be hosting a nine-day installation of creative writing and bookmaking drop-in workshops. Children, young people and their families pick from a selection of dares or extracts to inspire their own story, transforming that tale into booklets and creating their very own writing dares for future story makers taking up the Dare to Write Library challenge!
As the library grows, young story makers can swap their booklets for the tales of others, and even RISO print a limited edition of their creative writing creation, made possible by RISO UK and Zerographic.
StoryFest is one of The Guardian’s top 10 children’s festivals for February half-term and also includes guest authors, interactive story sessions and a big book swap. If you can’t come to join us onsite, we’ll be tweeting images and story ideas from the Dare to Write Library as they evolve throughout the week, so watch this space.
